VILLAGE GARDENS, SARASOTA

Real Estate, Floorplans & A Local Guide to One of Sarasota's Most Distinctive Communities

AN UNEXPECTED WORLD AMONGST THE TREES

Village Gardens is surprisingly easy to miss. Turn off Old Bradenton Road, drive along it's tree-lined entrance, over the narrow bridge, and the surroundings change immediately. Towering pines and mature oaks shade the winding road. A pond and fountain sit among tropical plantings near the clubhouse, pool and other amenities, while the homes themselves are nestled throughout, beneath the tree canopy.

The main road makes a broad loop through the community, with smaller lanes branching off into clusters of duplex-style homes. In places, the road divides around a mature tree. It's remarkably peaceful - tidy, quiet and established. People wave and smile. Neighbors greet one another with genuine care. When the weather is nice, residents walk the loop in the evening, sometimes with their dogs and sometimes simply walking and talking together.

The sense of community here goes deeper than friendly neighbors. Village Gardens has a remarkable feeling of extended family - and in many cases, that's literally what it is. Multi-generations of families and and long-time family friends have all found homes here, sometimes after visiting relatives in the community for decades. Some residents have owned more than one Village Garden home rather than leave the neighborhood. That history creates something increasingly difficult to manufacture in a newer development: continuity. Village Gardens doesn't just have a neighborhood association. It has a neighborhood memory.

You may occasionally hear an airplane overhead or a passing train, that's part of living Downtown, but inside the community the overwhelming impression is trees, gardens and quiet. And yet Village Gardens sits close to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, the Ringling Museum and Ca' D'Zan, New College, Downtown Sarasota, Siesta Key and Gulf Coast Beaches and the UTC area an easy drive in the other direction. It's one of those places where the map doesn't really describe what it feels like to live here.

Rachel went above and beyond for me every step of the way. Her research about my property and the community I lived in was astounding! Her communication with me was consistent and she always either answered the phone or called me back promptly. Rachel works hard for you and it is not easy to find anyone with higher integrity. Call her. I guarantee you will not be sorry!

It was a very lucky day when a neighbor put us in touch with Rachel Pearson. We had the difficult task of selling our mother's Florida condo from our home in New York. Right away, Rachel got things organized, and the pieces rapidly fell into place. We came down for several days to meet her and dispose of the things that were left. She advised us on what to leave and what to get rid of, what to spruce up or fix, and how to handle all the details and the complicated paperwork. Her knowledge and experience made things seem easy. The few little problems we did encounter did not discourage her in the least - she always had a cheerful, can-do attitude and a speedy solution. When we didn't have time to fix two damaged screens during our visit, she rolled up her sleeves and took care of the job herself. She found the perfect buyer, who bought the house and the furnishings for a very good price. The entire process took just over a month! Exceptional job and a real pleasure to work with!

I had contacted several different realtors via phone, from referrals and internet searches explaining that my daughter and I were on a very tight timeline to find a property to purchace in the Sarasota area. I was driving different neighborhoods for properties I found on the internet, when met Rachel Pearson at an open house. She was the only one to understand my urgency. Her followup was amazing! We looked at about 10 different places within 3 days, found the perfect place. Since both my daughter and I were out of state (she in California and me in Iowa) for the closing and inspection, she went above and beyond to make the closing seamless! Added note, I have worked in the Real Estate Industry for 30 years and she is by far one of the best Realtors I have ever worked with.
